Did You Know? . . . Toyota Remotes with FCC ID GQ43VT14T are Interchangeable

Toyota began installing keyless entry systems on most sedans and vans at the end of the 1990s. For trucks, keyless entry remained an option until much later. Prior to that, the system on most Toyota vehicles is an optional port-installed or dealer-installed system that was not part of factory specification.

One of the earliest generations of factory-installed keyless entry systems for Toyota were systems that used remotes with FCC ID GQ43VT14T. This generation was used on vehicles all the way until 2008. These keyfobs came in a variety of button configurations that varied according to whether or not a rear function was operated by the remote, what the rear function button for that operation looked like, and, in the case of Sienna vans, whether or not the van was equipped with one or two power sliding doors that could be operated by the remote.

If you are buying a replacement remote for your Toyota car or van and your old remote has FCC ID GQ43VT14T on the back, then you should note that the circuit boards underneath those buttons are all the same. So, a 4-button remote with a trunk icon on the rear function button will work the same for a vehicle that originally had a hatch button icon.

Also, the systems that used remotes with FCC ID GQ43VT14T are all user programmable.
