Just thought I would write about FCC IDs. For those of you who do not know, devices that transmit on a radio frequence, such as automotive remote controls, must receive approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). When a company first registers a product, they are assigned a registrant identifier or code, which is three characters. This registrant code forms the first three characters in an FCC ID.
Delphi, dating back to its days as a division of General Motors, is the registrant for many GM keyless entry remotes. Most of those FCC IDs start with ABO, Delphi’s registrant code. Some examples of the FCC IDs are:
ABO0104T used on many GM makes and vehicles
ABO0202T used on Corvette
ABO0204T used on many GM makes and vehicles
There are many more ABOxxxxx keyfobs made by Delphi and used on GM vehicles. Just thought you might want to know.
