Marksman (Magnadyne) Remotes with FCC ID H5OTR17 and H5OT17

As is often the case, as soon as I post something, I hear from someone about what I forgot to mention. A reader correctly pointed out that the Marksman 2-way remote with FCC ID H5OTR17 featured in my last blog entry is also used on Marksman M9A and X4 model aftermarket alarm systems (as well as in the X9 model previously mentioned). This is correct. Also, he pointed out that the Magnadyne part number for this remote is X4RF-LCD.

Another reader contacted us to ask about keyfobs with FCC ID H5OT17. She said her remote has that FCC ID (without the “R” in the FCC ID number) and thought I might have made a mistake. H5OT17 is also a valid FCC ID. It was used on two different 2-button Car-Pro (Autopage) remotes. These remotes are often confused. The best way to tell them apart is by the part number embossed on the back of the remote case. One is part XT-22 and one is XT-23.

See each part by clicking on the part number shown at the following link.
