These car remotes look very much like the 3-button keyfobs used on Ford vehicles during this period, and several web sellers think they are the same part. However, this Mazda part is not compatible with the Ford remote, so be cautious when buying a car remote for your 1998-2002 Mazda 626.

Most keyless entry systems used over the past two decades allow at least four remotes to be programmed to a vehicle. I do not know specifically about the 2001 Mazda 626, but the odds are that you can program more than two remotes to your vehicle. If you have a manual for the vehicle, you can probably find the information there. If not, email us your VIN and we can check for you.
