Non-Programmable Honda and Acura Dealer-Installed Security System Remotes with FCC ID A269ZUA089 or DCP00196

During the early 1990s, Honda offered dealer-installed security systems as an option on many of its Honda and Acura vehicles. The remotes on these systems had an FCC ID of either A269ZUA089 or DCP00196. These systems were made for Honda by Alpine and Alarm Electronics, respectively. The systems were unusual in that the remotes and the control module were sold as a set and there is no way to program a replacement remote to work with an installed system. That is why we refer to them as “non-programmable”.

The fact that the remotes are not programmable is somewhat moot, anyway, because these systems are no longer manufactured and have not been for years. If you can find a full system – with the remotes and the control module – then you could replace your old system entirely with the new one. However, we rarely run across a supplier who has any of the old complete systems lying around and few consumers are going to want to go to that much expense and trouble just to replace an outdated technology.

If you have one of these older systems and would like to buy a replacement remote control for it, you have one hope. If you have an original remote that will transmit any signal – even a weak one – then Remotes Unlimited can make a copy of your old remote. This is true even if the case is broken or the buttons do not work. If the remote will transmit a signal, we can probably make a replacement.
