Programming Ford Remotes with FCC ID GQ43VT11T or CWTWB1Uxxx with a Non-Original Key

A website visitor contacted Remotes Unlimited recently to ask if he could program a Ford vehicle himself to accept our remote key fob 344-1344, which is a 4-button transmitter with FCC ID GQ43VT11T or CWTWB1Uxxx. Here is our response to that customer:

Assuming you have selected the correct remote for your vehicle – part 344-1344 – then you should be able to program your vehicle to accept the new remote. You do need a key that works with your vehicle in order to put the vehicle into programming mode. If your vehicle originally came with a transponder based anti-theft system, then any key that operates your vehicle should work for programming, even if it is a replacement key with a properly cloned transponder.
