Replacement Keyless Entry Remote Key Fobs for 2000 Infiniti QX4

For Infiniti QX4 vehicles, the 2000 model year is one of those that poses challenges for customers buying a replacement car remote. During that year, Infiniti installed two different keyless entry systems on QX4 vehicles. The keyfobs for these systems are nearly identical, but they are not interchangeable, so it is important to know what you are buying when you replace a 2000 QX4 remote.

For vehicles built through December 31, 1999, the correct replacement remote is RUI part 493-1493. (See the remote at this link.) If you are not sure when your vehicle was assembled, but you have your original key fob, you can look on the back of it and match the correct FCC ID. RUI part 493-1493 has FCC ID KBRASTU09 on the back.

For vehicles built after January 1, 2000, the correct replacement remote is RUI part 885-1885. (See the remote at this link.) RUI part 885-1885 has FCC ID KBRASTU10 Model /A on the back.

Both systems are user programmable.
