Replacement Remote Transmitter on Sale Now for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Keyless Entry Systems That Originally Used Key Fob with FCC ID CWTWB1U343

For several years from 1998, vehicles including Ford Crown Victoria, Lincoln Continental and Mark VIII, and Mercury Grand Marquis used keyless entry systems that had an original remote with FCC ID CWTWB1U343. The keyfob is a 4-button transmitter and had a variety of part numbers, including 3W7Z-15K601-AA and 3W73-15K601-AA. This remote is Remotes Unlimited part 211-1211 (see link) and it is on sale now for only $33.00. This is a significant savings versus the Ford dealership list price of $55.71.

Some vehicles that used this keyless entry remote had seat memory, so transmitters may have a fob number “1” or “2” on the back. But the two remotes are identical inside, so they are interchangeable. With the exception of 1998 Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis vehicles, the factory keyless entry system in sedans that use this remote are user programmable.

Before you buy this remote — or any key fob — be sure the FCC ID, part number or vehicle specification matches your original part. That is because there is another 4-button remote used on other vehicles that looks very similar.

Also, remote 211-1211 replaced another Ford/Lincoln/Mercury keyfob that looks totally different but which has the same electronics, so is interchangeable. See the RUI part 581-1581, which part 211-1211 replaces, at this link. If either of these parts was the original remote used with your vehicle, then either part can be used as a replacement. And both parts are on sale now!
