Following up on my post yesterday about Avital, Clifford, Python, Viper and other aftermarket alarm systems made by DEI, someone trying to buy a replacement car alarm remote should note that matching the FCC ID number and button count is not always sufficient. For instance, DEI remotes that have an FCC ID of EZSDEI467 used several different circuit boards. In order to get the correct replacement part for a remote with FCC ID EZSDEI467, you have to match the number on the PCB, which means you have to open up your original remote.
When you are buying a replacement car remote, it is always best to ask an expert.
