The customer faced two problems. One is that the LHJ009 remote was used on Saturn L-series vehicles but not on the Saturn Ion. The correct keyless entry remote for Saturn Ions has FCC ID N5FT36588A. The second problem is that Saturn Ions require a scan tool for programming.
Unfortunately, we hear these stories frequently, especially when someone has bought a remote from a less reputable online source. So, when you need to buy a replacement car remote, we recommend you shop only at an auto parts store or a more credible online seller.
