The part you specified is capable of two-way communication. Two-way systems typically also have a one-way companion remote that is only capable of transmitting. This part option is the current OE replacement one-way companion remote for your system.

The part you specified is for a two-way aftermarket alarm system. Two-way systems typically come with a primary LCD, LED or OLED remote -- capable of both transmitting remote instructions and receiving information from the vehicle control module -- as well as a one-way companion remote that is only capable of transmitting. The original two-way transmitter for your system was an expensive OLED remote. This part is an optional two-way LCD replacement part from the OE manufacturer. It supports two-way communications with the vehicle just as the OLED transceiver, but is a less expensive part. If you want the more expensive OLED part and do not see it among the replacement options shown here, feel free to call RUI at 877-719-1900 and we will special-order it for you.
