Caution: GM Automotive Remote Controls with FCC ID KOBGT04A

Vehicle manufacturers often design a “family” of car remotes around a single transmission protocol and case shape. This can lead to having many different keyfobs with similar identifying characteristics, which can make it difficult to be certain you are buying the correct replacement car remote. This is complicated by the fact that different keyfobs within a family of remotes are not always compatible with each other.

General Motors may be the leader in keyless entry remote proliferation. One of their families of keyfobs, using FCC ID KOBGT04A, has as many as 13 different remote transmitters. So, when specifying the replacement part you need, always shop with a reputable service provider and take care to provide the best information you can about your original remote.
