GM Keyless Entry Remote for 1997 GMC Trucks

Model year 1997 GMC trucks that were equipped with factory keyless entry systems used a keyfob remote transmitter with FCC ID ABO1502T on the back of the case. This includes the C and K series and Sonoma pickup trucks, and even extends to the vans (both Safari and Savana) and the Jimmy and Yukon SUVs. Most of these vehicles used a 2-button remote with just lock and unlock buttons, but some may have used a 3-button remote with a rear function button.

If you are buying a replacement remote for any of these vehicles, you should keep two things in mind. One is that many GMC vehicles of this era only had factory keyless entry as optional equipment or as part of a luxury feature package. So, if you bought a used vehicle and never had a remote for it, the vehicle may not have factory keyless entry installed on it. The second thing to know is that all ABO1502T keyfobs are interchangeable. While the buttons on the front vary, the circuit board inside various keyfobs are identical. So, you can purchase the 4-button remote to replace a 2-button original keyfob. The extra buttons simply will not do anything.
