Replacement Factory Keyless Entry Remote Transmitter for 2001 Nissan Xterra

A site visitor wrote to ask us about replacing the remote transmitter for his 2001 Nissan Xterra.

The original keyfob used on this vehicle was an oval-shaped 3-button remote with FCC ID KBRASTU10. Nissan no longer produces this remote. The Remotes Unlimited part number for it is 501-1501. See an image of this discontinued remote at the following link:

The new Nissan keyless entry remote that works for 2001 Xterra vehicles has more of a rectangular or keystone shape. It has a different FCC ID – KBRASTU15 – but sends the same electronic signal as the old remote. Remotes Unlimited does sell a replacement keyfob that looks like and functions like this remote. It is our part 503-1503 with a retail price of $60.00. (The Nissan dealer list on both parts is over $100.) See Remotes Unlimited part 503-1503 at the following link:

Nissan and Infiniti vehicles with a factory keyless entry system that uses either the original KBRASTU10 keyfob or the KBRASTU15 newer-style remote are user-programmable, so you will be able to synchronize the new remote to your vehicle without going to a dealer. Programming instructions and free phone tech support are included with purchase.
