Beginning near the end of the “naught” (200x) model years, Nissan began installing push-button ignitions as standard or optional equipment on many vehicles. The factory keyless entry systems for these vehicles used a so-called “Smart Key” or proximity transmitter with a transponder inside. For vehicles such as Nissan Versa and Nissan Rogue, push-button start was not standard equipment. Vehicles with keyed ignitions and factory keyless entry used a conventional keyfob. But vehicles with push-button start used a 3-button proximity remote with FCC ID CWTWBU729.
