But we need to know some specific information to replace a remote. Often, all we need to know is the FCC ID on the back of the remote and the button configuration. Sometimes, we need to know the printed circuit board or other information from inside the case. When all else fails, knowing the model number of the system, and sometimes a date code, usually provides the information needed for definitive specification of a replacement remote.
