SEMA-AAPEX Shows Definitely the Place To Be

We are presently attending the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) and AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Exposition) shows in Las Vegas again this year and finding several new participants in our product category — replacement aftermarket alarm and factory keyless entry system remote transmitters.  We found two new exhibitors selling key fobs and replacement cases for older remote transmitters.  We also see important advances in data management software and services that should make it easier for small businesses such as ours to sell parts effectively to retailers and installers across the country.  We were able to meet with most of our large chain customer representatives.  I would be lying if I said the trip has been all business, but after six hours of walking seemingly endless convention floors and another six hours of meetings, for two days running, taking a break to see a show does not seem totally irresponsible.  Plus it helps the Las Vegas economy, which certainly seems as if it could use a boost after several years of recession.
