Buying a Replacement Keyless Entry Remote Control or Replacement Case

More and more sellers are offering replacement remote controls and cases for factory keyless entry systems. The problem is . . . many of them do not know what they are selling, and this can lead to problems for consumers.

For instance, we recently saw a Dorman replacement case package for a common GM remote control. Surprisingly, the battery specification on the package is for a CR2016 battery, even though the remotes using this case actually require a CR2032 battery.

We see this kind of incorrect part, battery and cross-reference all of the time. We believe most companies just do not take the time to do their homework. They seem to think that the confusion and inconvenience they cause for consumers is no big deal. We disagree.
