FCC ID KOBGT04A Keyless Entry Remote . . . The Continuing Saga

Well, our post of earlier today raised another good question. A reader said, “If the 4-button remotes of GM parts with different FCC IDs (KOBGT04A and OUC60270, etc.) look the same but are not interchangeable, it that true for the 5-button remotes as well?”

The answer is yes. Sedans such as the 2005 Buick Allure that use keyless entry systems with remotes having an FCC ID of KOBGT04A and have remote start use the keyfob shown below.

This remote is not interchangeable with remote start keyfobs used on the Buick Lucerne or Chevrolet Impala (see yesterday’s entry). The remote has two GM part numbers associated with it, both are interchangeable.
