Replacement 2008-2010 Hyundai Accent Factory Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob

A caller was interested in buying a replacement remote keyfob for his 2009 Hyundai Accent. However, he was uncertain whether his Accent had a factory keyless entry system or an aftermarket system. From information on his original remote control, we were able to determine that he had a factory keyless entry system. The correct replacement remote transmitter for 2008-2010 Hyundai Accent cars with a factory system is the 3-button keyfob with FCC ID PLNHM-T002 and Hyundai part number 95430-1E012.

This remote requires a scan tool for programming, so you will need to take your vehicle and all remotes to be used with it to a Hyundai dealer or qualified automotive locksmith.

    Hello,
I’m looking for a key fob for my 2010, Hyundai Accent. I bought it used, but no remote came with. I understand there was one, when it was brand new.

Can you advise, if you have two available?

    Hello,
I’m looking for a keyless remote for my 2009, Hyundai Accent (Mexico). I have bought it used with no remote. I’m not sure if there was one for it since this car was made in Mexico.

Can you please advise, if there is one for this car?

    Thank you,

    Carlos

To know for certain whether or not the vehicle has a factory keyless entry system, we would need to know the VIN of the car. Then we could check the Hyundai database to see what is installed on it.

If your vehicle does have keyless entry and it is the same system as vehicles sold in the United States, the Remotes Unlimited part number for the remote transmitter is 089-6463. You can see and purchase this part at the following link:
      RUI part 089-6463

Hyundai keyless entry systems must be programmed by a dealership using a special computer scan tool. So, if you purchase a remote, you will have to take it and your vehicle to a dealership (or qualified automotive locksmith) for programming assistance.

Hi. I just bought an 2013 Hyundai accent in California, it did not come with keyless.
Howto know if it comes with factory keyless or not?

    Thanks

      Hello Oscar,

Unfortunately there is no test procedure that we could conduct to verify if your Accent came with a factory keyless system installed. You should contact a Hyundai dealer and provide them with the VIN.
Like almost all Hyundai vehicles, it needs to be programmed at a locksmith or dealer for an additional fee.

I lost my keys to my 2010 Hyundai Accent. i have the vin number, is there any possibility to just send my vin number in and have someone mail me the key?

Emma, sorry to be so late in responding. Our blog response operations were interrupted due to COVID-19, but we are back in action now.

The answer to your question has two parts. Yes, you can get a key cut by a locksmith or other authorized service provider based on the VIN of your Hyundai Accent. However, that key will not work with your vehicle until your vehicle has been “programmed” to accept the new key. This is for security reasons. If this were not the case, it would be possible for a car thief to buy a key from an unscrupulous source and easily drive off with your vehicle.
