Replacements for Discontinued Honda and Acura Dealer-Installed Keyless Entry or Alarm System Remote Control Key Fobs

In the 1990s, Honda used systems made by Alpine and Kenwood as dealer-installed keyless entry or anti-theft alarm systems. Both of the manufacturers of these systems have long since left the automotive alarm system business, so replacement remotes are no longer made for these systems. They have been very difficult to get from any source for some time.

The FCC ID on remotes used with the system from Kenwood is DCP00196. This is a non-programmable system. So, if you are trying to buy a replacement key fob for this Kenwood system, you will only be able to do so if you have an original remote that still transmits at least a weak signal. If that is the case, Remotes Unlimited can make a “clone” of your remote.

The FCC ID on the discontinued dealer-installed Alpine system key fobs is either A269ZUA089 or A269ZUA074. For the systems that used an original remote with FCC ID A269ZUA089, the situation is the same — this too is a non-programmable system and you will only be able to buy a replacement key fob if you have an original remote that still transmits at least a weak signal.

The FCC ID on the other discontinued Alpine-made system key fobs is A269ZUA074. This system is user programmable and Remotes Unlimited does have a replacement remote available for it, which comes with programming instructions and free phone tech support.

There are also other Honda and Acura dealer-installed systems, including others that were originally made by Alpine. Replacement “original” remotes are still available for all of those other systems at the present time.
