Toyota Dealer-Installed Remotes with FCC ID BAB237131-xxx

Toyota and other manufacturers have sold many vehicles with port-installed or dealer-installed keyless entry systems that use remote transmitters with FCC ID BAB237131-xxx. Because these remotes are not factory equipment, they may not show up in dealer or aftermarket parts catalogs when searched by the make, model and year of the vehicle. If you are buying a replacement remote for one of these keyfobs, it is important to understand that these remotes are not interchangeable. Also, the two Toyota dealer-installed keyfobs with FCC ID BAB237131-022 are nearly identical but cannot be used in place of each other. One has a black case with black buttons. These two remotes have been discontinued by Toyota and replaced by new-style remotes that have a different FCC ID number and a different case shape.
