Various Button Configurations of GM Keyless Entry Remotes with FCC ID ABO1502T

My post about the 1998-2006 Camaro keyless entry remotes with FCC ID ABO1502T ( see at this link ) generated a question about other remotes with this FCC ID.

There were four basic button configurations for GM key fobs with FCC ID ABO1502T. The 2-button remote was used on trucks and some SUVs without anti-theft systems. The 3-button and 4-button remotes were used on sedans and SUVs. One of the 4-button remotes is distinctive because it has a gas cap release button icon instead of a panic button icon on the 4th button. This remote was only used on Cadillac vehicles.

All four of the remotes are interchangeable. Of course, if you buy a replacement remote with more buttons than your original remote, it does not suddenly give you additional functions, but if you use a 4-button remote for a vehicle that originally came with the 2-button key fob, lock and unlock will work just fine after programming.

I mention the interchangeability because the 4-button remote with the panic button icon is less expensive than both the 3-button remote and the 4-button key fob with the gas cap release.
