He was having trouble programming the remote to have the lock and unlock functions on different buttons. When he used the standard programming process, the system responded to only 1 button – alternately locking and unlocking his vehicle.

It turns out that some DEI systems, including the one in the customer’s vehicle, default to using one button for the lock and unlock functions. One can program these systems to separate the lock and unlock functions onto two separate buttons by using channel 7 of the system.
