2003 Corvette Keyless Entry Remotes

A site visitor sent an inquiry asking about replacement remotes for her newly purchased 2003 Corvette. Here is the response:

The 2003 Corvette uses either of two remotes (explained below), Remotes Unlimited part 511-1511 or part 515-1515. Links to the two parts are:

Link to Fob #1: RUI part 515-1515.

Link to Fob #2: RUI part 511-1511.

The reason there are two remotes is because this vehicle has seat memory. If you set your driver seat memory for driver 1 and driver 2 and then program two remotes for use with the vehicle, one of the remotes will trigger the driver 1 seat position and the other will trigger the driver 2 seat position.

Here is the interesting thing: the two different remotes are identical except for a fob number 1 or 2 on the back of the case. These numbers are entirely cosmetic. It does not matter which part you buy. In fact, you could buy two remotes with fob number 1 on the back and they would both program fine and one would operate seat position 1 and one would operate seat position 2.

Both remotes are currently priced at $69.00 on our website. The GM dealer list price is $93.86. These parts are user programmable on a 2003 Corvette. If you buy from Remotes Unlimited, you will receive instructions for programming the system to accept the new remote(s) and free phone technical support as well. Dealers do not provide programming instructions. Often they will tell you that they must perform the programming procedure . . . then they will charge a service fee for doing it.
