As you may know, GM shifted to using switchblade-style remotes on several of its sedans beginning with the 2010 model year. This includes Buick Allure and LaCrosse vehicles.
What you may not know is that there are actually two pairs of these switch-blade style remotes. One set is for vehicles with a keyed ignition; the other set is for vehicles with push-button start.
Each pair has a 5-button remote for vehicles with no remote start and a 6-button remote for vehicles with the remote start feature. (These button counts include the button that releases the key blade.)
GM may have started paying better attention to what customers want. These remotes are reasonably priced and a user can program a new part for the vehicle if they still have an original remote and the transponder has not been physically damaged.
