When buying a replacement car remote for a Honda vehicle, one has to be a little careful about whether or not the vehicle has a factory keyless entry system, a dealer-installed system or an aftermarket alarm system. At least through 2004, many Honda vehicles did not come with keyless entry systems installed as standard equipment. However, Honda did offer dealer-installed systems with a Honda logo. In many cases, the factory-installed and dealer-installed systems use remotes that look the same, even though they may not be interchangeable. It is often best to shop for a replacement remote by matching the FCC ID or manufacturer’s part number from the back of your original remote.
