Toyota Factory Keyless Entry Remotes with FCC ID HYQ12BAN

A reader who saw my post of a couple of days ago entitled “Toyota Factory Keyless Entry Remote Keyfobs with FCC ID HYQ12BBX” (link here) said she has a remote control for a Toyota 4Runner SUV that uses a remote that looks identical to one of the remotes shown but which has a different FCC ID HYQ12BAN. This is certainly possible. The original remote on many Toyota vehicles during this period had FCC ID HYQ12BAN. More recently, Toyota shifted to a family of compatible remote keyfobs with FCC ID HYQ12BBX. This is just one more case where the FCC ID is not the critical criterion for replacing a keyless entry remote.
